Thanks for getting us in on such short notice! Sully is feeling so much better which means we are too. Also, great job with your covid processes. It was certainly a different experience not being in the room but I appreciated having the chance to talk to the doctor. So glad we found you when we moved to town!

During this Covid-19 pandemic, North kingstown Animal Hospital has made changes to their process that continue to provide safety to pets, owners, and staff. Having the check-in window at the side of the hospital is a wonderful idea. Also having the doctor call out to the owner is a wonderful touch and closes the loop of concern, if any. I think it is going very well. You can tell thought continues to go in this process. The parking lot does continue to be an area of congestion.

I am beyond disappointed by my last emergency visit with my pet. I told the staff all of Angel s current symptoms and my concerns that I had about him, trusting that she would share appropriately. Dr Wheeler called me back within 2 to 3 minutes of seeing my pet and dismissed all my concerns saying that my dog looked fine. I then told Dr Wheeler that my dog was not fine and again repeated the symptoms along with my concerns that his behavior tells me he is not fine. This is a list of his symptoms: - Frequent discomfort displayed by moaning; even first thing in the morning, when picking him up, throughout the day, etc. - Distended stomach - very swollen, yet not eating more than usual. - Legs are frequently giving out; will collapse when walking or being put down. - Eyes look like they are drifting out to the side; can notice looking at his tear ducts - it was never like that before. - Isnt barking as much, which is different for him. She agreed to take an X-ray and do blood test. When she called me to let me know the findings, she told me, Angel is very sick. She began to tell me about his liver levels and how ill he is. She suggested some test, and when I told her that we have been treating him with medication for his liver, and it was beyond obvious to me she didn t look at his chart to see what his previous care entailed. After checking his chart she made some suggestions. I have never been disappointed by the care my animals receive at this veterinary hospital until this visit. The interaction with the provider and lack of thoroughness was inexcusable. I left a message for Dr Holmes to return a call to me on Saturday. She has always been excellent and knows my dog. Our appointment was booked for 2:00 on 08/03 at the request of Dr. Balmforth. Lorrie had called to ask if we could reschedule earlier that day, and we had agreed. We arrived 5 minutes early, called your office and left a message. I believe I followed instructions, but after speaking with Lorrie, she informed me that I had not. Nevertheless, we were parked right in front of your entrance, and waited approximately 1/2 hour before Lorrie came out to speak to us to inform us that because we did not follow instructions, that Dr. Harper took someone else in our time slot. It was another hour (total running time 1 hour) until we found out that Dr. Harper could not had make time in her day to see our dog. We are long time clients of NK Animal Hospital going to 1988 - 32 years. We have spent thousands of dollars with your clinic, and I might add received excellent care in turn. I really don t think the situation was handle properly, and as a consequence have had to make arrangements with another veterinarian that I have had not history with. To reiterate, I think the situation could have been handled a lot better. I would have been happy to reschedule, but making us wait an additional 4 weeks simply rubbed us the wrong way, particularly with our long history with NK Animal Hospital. Steve Dressler

I was Very Happy Dr. Mandarini came out to talk to me before Mr. Mc Keever went in, that was great. Dr. Mandarini called to tell me what was going on. It seems that Mr. Mc Keever had a very bad ear infection. It is Sunday and Mr. Mc Keever is doing Great. Thank You to Everyone Working at North Kingstown Animal Hospital. I was made to wait 20-30 minutes after the assistant returned my pet to me. Had to call to get my bill, person forgot to bring the medicine out to me and then gave me the wrong one (no apology for making me wait. Quite few people who came after me left long before me. Please follow up with clients immediately. I made an early appointment because I work. Felt dismissed.

I had to call three times before the phone was answered upon arrival. We weren t called for our visit until 11:30 (for an 11:00 appointment) (and people who were there for an 11:30 appointment were called before us). The vet never came out to discuss the visit. Although the tech staff was friendly, this was not a great visit.

I was quoted $250.00 and when my daughter paid the bill, it was $403 and I was shocked! She told me that I asked for the rabies test to be done (which I thought that’s what the visit was for) and it had been included in the $250 quote. I’m 77 and I only get Social Security which isn’t very much, (that’s why my daughter lives with me) so I guess my bills will go by the wayside for this month.
